The
Workshop:
We will review the latest information on the neurologic and genetic
basis of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. We will discuss the
comorbid problems associated with ADHD and how they may impact the diagnostic
process. We will discuss the psychopharmacology of ADHD and review the
most recent additions to the medical treatment plan. The role of non-medical
therapies, family education and school-based interventions will also
be discussed. Case presentations will be used to illustrate each of the
above issues. This program is for all mental health professionals.
Learning
Objectives -- Participants will learn:
1. The neurologic and genetic basis of ADHD and its comorbidities.
2. The impact comorbidities have on the diagnostic process.
3. What medications can and cannot do in the treatment of ADHD.
4. The latest trends and developments in the ADHD field.
Daniel
Marwil, M.D. is a Neurodevelopmental Pediatrician and Clinical
Instructor in Pediatrics at Brown Medical School. Dr. Marwil has over
20 years of clinical experience in the diagnosis and treat-
ment of
ADHD. He has taught classes, led workshops and spoken extensively to
parent and professional groups on the subject.
