RIPA Discussion Salon Thursday, November 1, 2001, 7:00 - 9:00 pm "Psychological Practice in Our Time of Terrorism and War" Hosted by Rhonda Sabo, Psy.D. On September 11, our sense of safety in America was shattered, and our new-found vulnerabilities and uncertainties are magnified by incidents of bioterrorism and a US military response in a highly volatile region of the world. As psychologists, we encounter not only our personal reactions and experiences to the current events; as ³experts in human behavior,² we are also in positions of responsibility to help our patients, our students, and the public with their experiences of these events. Join several trauma and disaster relief experts for an open discussion of our personal and professional experiences of our current time of terrorism and war. Topics may include the current stresses of our work, self-care for psychologists, and ideas for helpful public assistance.
